A Clasic Christmas
Christmas is right around the corner, which means it’s time for the fifth annual Niagara University Ball.
This year, the ball will be held on Dec. 4 in the Kiernan Center gymnasium from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Co-chairs Brenna Miller and Hannah Owczarczak, along with their committee, have been planning the ball since the beginning of October. They decided to keep some of the ball’s traditions, but planned a few new things as well.
This year, the committee is trying to make the ball feel more like a cocktail party with a sit-down dinner, a bar for of-age students, and (of course) dancing.
A buffet-style dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Carriage rides will be available from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. around campus. Upon arrival, a specialty drink will be served at the ball as well. Both the carriage rides and drinks are two new additions this year.
Also, the ticket price has been changed. Tickets are now only $5 for both NU students and non-NU students, as opposed to last year’s $10. The ball is for faculty and students alike.
“The purpose of the ball is to let students dress up for a night on campus and have a nice dinner and get to dance and get ready for the holiday time that is upon us,” says Miller.
“I went to the ball once before – I went during my freshman year and had a blast. I really enjoyed the sit-down dinner and all of the dancing,” said NU senior Danielle Bednarz.
Tickets for the ball can be purchased in the Campus Activities Office.
