Tune in to episode No. 3 of The Ridge Report
Kerisa Bonville, a sophomore from Fairport who is majoring in theatre and communication studies, hosts the third installment of The Ridge Report, Niagara University's student-produced telecast billed as providing campus news by students and for students.
News items featured in episode No. 3 include a summary of a spring break trip that NU biology and chemistry majors took to study the eco-systems of the Florida Everglades; an update on the recent launch of regular late-night programming activities on campus; a preview of the 2011 Niagara baseball season; and a recap of a documentary screening that was held on campus by the non-profit activist group, Invisible Children.
Bonville takes the mic from Geoff Redick, a senior communication studies major from Batavia, who had served as anchor for the original pair of Ridge Reports. All along, co-producers Anna Hoffmann, ˜12 and Sarah Kim ˜11 had planned to rotate anchoring responsibilities so as to provide opportunities for interested, capable individuals to build material for their resumes.
The Ridge Report, which launched its first episode on Jan. 5, endeavors to cover Niagara University topics and happenings that are of interest to students, including previews and reviews of concerts, theater performances and sporting events, as well as service learning and fundraising opportunities.
